The best 10 teams of the qualifiers get into the Agrovirtus Academy, where they get a degree in “Digital Farm Management”

Agrovirtus Academy: November 18 - 19, 2019.

Semi finals: November 19, 2019.

Finals: November 20, 2019.

Date of the qualifiers:
October 7 - November 10, 2019.

In the qualifiers we simulate a full production year using the data of an actual farm in the AgroVIR farm management system.

Teams get related tasts, every 3 to 4 days. (E.g.: workforce optimization, crop protection, irrigation planning, etc.). These issues shall be solved in the AgroVIR System, consequently the qualifiers take place online!

The best 10 teams of the qualifiers get into and will be trained at the Agrovirtus Academy for three days with full board! !

Az Agrovirtus Date of the Agrovirtus Academy:
November 18 - 19, 2019.

The 10 best performing teams of Agrovirtus qualifiers will get into the Agrovirtus Academy, which will be held in Gödöllő at the Szent István University this year.

During the two days of the Academy interesting specialist lectures, trainings, and workshops will be held, your accommodation and meals are on us of course.

Team members qualified for the academy are awarded with a degree in “Digital Farm management”, which can be used in resumes, scholarships, or job applications.

Semi finals will be held at the Academy, where the best five teams will be chosen, and qualify for the finals at November 20.

Agrovirtus finals will be held in:
November 20, 2019.

The best 5 teams of the Agrovirtus semifinals get into the finals which will be arranged in Gödöllő at the Szent István University.

We wont give away the tasks of the finals of course, but you can be prepared for exciting challenges and a jury composed of respected professionals. Tasks of the final will be handed out in the morning, and after a few hours of preparations in the early afternoon the final competition begins.

Like last year, we prepared valuable prizes in 2019.

First prize winners will be able to attend a festival of their choice in value of 3000 EUR or they can carry out an agricultural project or study trip for the same amount of money.

Additional prizes: Participation in international exhibitions, and professional programs.

BALÁZS GYŐRFFY

President, The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture

President of The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, member of parliament. His whole career was defined by his love for agriculture: Until the autumn of 2006 he was a colleague of the Agriculture and Rural Development Office in Veszprém, since 2007 he has been the president of the Veszprém County Farmers' Association, and in 2009 he became the vice-president of the Association of Hungarian Farmers and Farmers' Cooperatives. Since 2013 he is the President of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, in 2017 he has been reelected for 5 years. He is a practicing farmer and cultivates arable crops on his family farm.

PÉTER HEICZ

Business Development and Digital Agronomy Manager, Syngenta Hungary Ltd.

Syngenta Hungary Ltd. is one of the key players in the Hungarian pesticide and seed market in terms of revenue and employemnt. Péter Heicz, the business development and digital agronomy manager of the company, started his career at Syngenta as a sales manager. His motivation and engagement might motivate future agronomist generations how to build a successful and prospering career in agribusiness.

DÁVID HOLLÓSI

Director, Takarék Group agrobusiness branch

40 year old agricultural economist, graduated in 2003 from the Kaposvár University with a degree in Rural Development Engineering. Acquired a degree in Accounting from the Budapest Business School. A professional who approaches the food economy with a global perspective and a systemic approach, focusing on long-term partnerships that are beneficial to both the customer and the financial institution. He is heartily talking about his origins from Somogy and his experiences related to agricultural production, which laid the foundation for his successful approach to agricultural financing.

MIKLÓS MARÓTI

CEO, Agrovir Ltd.

Miklós Maróti graduated from Georgikon University as an agricultural engineer and after graduation he worked at the UK's largest agricultural consultancy firm for three years. Once returning to Hungary he worked at a large farm where he faced the problem of not having accurate data for well-informed decisions, despite plenty of administration. This is when he conceived the idea of how to develop a system that uses the information available. It is from this idea that AgroVir Ltd. was born, which became one of the most significant farm management systems in agricultural businesses in Hungary today.

TIBOR MÉSZÁROS

Head of crop production, MOROKO-Farm Kft.

After graduating as an agricultural engineer in Tessedik Sámuel College, he worked for the largest multunational seed companies (Pioneer, Syngenta) in the field of corn production and process. In the meantime he got his second degree as a seed specialist engineer at Szent István University. His career continued at Moroco-Farm Ltd. where he is responsible for the management of the farm's daily operation, including the production of 500 hectares of Syngenta corn. He believes in life long learning, therefore started a precision agriculture engineer course at Óbuda University this year.

DR. DÁVID MEZŐSZENTGYÖRGYI

Agrobusiness expert, T-Systems Hungary Ltd.

Agriculture engineer of 45 yrs., agrobusiness expert at T-Systems Hungary Ltd. In the past 20 years, he has taught in agricultural higher education and has held senior positions in state administration. According to his believes students have to be introduced to the newest theoretical knowledge, technologies, and practical skills during their education, use common sense and modern international methods in order to effectively manage and help farming in corporat.
